Holy Cross Church is one of the most famous churches in Florence, and the principal franciscan in town, as well as a beautiful example of Gothic style in Florence. It is the burial locations of many Italian artists, poets, musicians and many more! Just to name some of them: Michelangelo, Foscolo, Rossini and Galileo.
According to a legend, it was St. Francis himself who founded Holy Cross Church.
One of its most remarkable features is by Giotto, who designed the sixteen chapels with beautiful frescoes.
