Florence Leather School

This school is located in the franciscan Monastery of Santa Croce built in the 1294 and was set up by the leather artisan Marcello Gori after the World War II. At first the aim of the school was to teach children war orphan the craft of working leather, even to give them a job opportunity for the future.

Today this is a commercial place where find leather goods but it has also a didactic side in wich learn this kind of art. The leather is a traditional material in Tuscany and you can find it in quality and detailed handmade objects.
