Old Bridge

Old Bridge represents the oldest bridge in Florence, dated 1345, as a reconstruction of the previous one destroyed by a flood. During the second World War, the german troops destroyed all the the bridges in town except Old Bridge. An important role in saving this bridge was developed by the german Gerhard Wolf, who recently gained a plate on it to commemorate his gestures. Nowadays, the bridge is famous to host jewelry shops on it, while decades ago there was the possibility to buy fresh fruit and meat. At the centre of the bridge, two terraces give the chance to take stunning pictures of the river and the reflection of the buildings of it.
