Spanish Steps

The famous steps connect Spagna square with Trinità dei Monti square. The name derives from the building of the embassy of Spain, located on a side of the square. The Spanish steps can be considered as an example of the majestic architecture of 18th century.

Looking at the staircase, to the right side you will find Keats- Shelley Memorial House: on the second floor of the building the flat where John Keats died can be visited to know more about this great english poet. For its unique design, the Spanish Steps were the spot where some fashion shows took place: the elegant staircase was used as a perfect stage where models could take off. Visit Spanish steps and feel the refined roman style at every step more.
