Dome of St. Ignatius

St. Ignatius Dome is something very special, once you enter the church and you walk toward the altar, you will see in the main nave a round marble disk , please do stop there and look up to enjoy the view of the ceiling but especially the tromp l’oeil Dome. The Dome is not real, it was painted on canvas by Andrea Pozzo who gave an optical illusion effect. You cannot miss to look up facing the Dome and to move around at the same time slowly slowly to see the interior part of it turning around as a real 3D effect!
