Semi Private tour with early entrance in the Vatican Museums. Get into the Vatican Museums one hour ahead of the general public with our enthusiastic guide discovering the Vatican Treasures.

You will meet at 7:30 am our team and our friendly art expert guide in front of the Vatican Museums and go to the priority entrance being ready to enter the Museums at 8:00am, one hour prior the general opening to the public!.  This tour is designed for a semi private group enable each participant to interact with our art expert guide, personal headsets for a better listening will be provided for the tour.   While you are getting ready to enter the Museums, our guide will introduce you the Sistine Chapel and the spectacular frescoes of Michelangelo; due to holiness of the the place inside the SistineChapel talking and explanations are forbidden. You will enter the Museums at 8:00am and access to the Vatican galleries just before reaching the beautiful apartments of the Pope Julius II, the rooms, including the School of Athens, were painting by the young Raphael. At that time both Michelangelo and Raphael were working at the service of the Pope Julius II. You will learn many stories about Raphael and Michelangelo and their rivalry. You will proceed to the Sistine Chapel and enjoy the beauty of the frescoes of the Ceiling and the Last Judgement. The Ceiling is depicting stories from the Genesis book and Noah’s life.

From the Sistine Chapel you will quickly access without standing in line inside the Basilica of St. Peter’s where inside a beautiful chapel behind a glass you will see  the amazing marble group called the “Pieta” sculpted when Michelangelo was only 19 years old. Michelangelo’s philosophy was that the figure was trapped inside the block of marble and his main work was simply to release it removing the material that exceed. Apart from Michelangelo, the Basilica is also unique for  baroque art where sculpture and architecture merge into each other;  in the center stands the magnificent Baldachin and right behind it there is the  “Altar of the Chair” both designed Bernini worked for the Barberini Pope for more than 20 years.

After the guided tour inside the Basilica of St. Peter’s and its square,  you can decide to climb on your own the Dome or to go beneath the Basilica to visit the Grottoes of the Popes.

Please let us say that in certain period of summer time  or when the Vatican Museums reopens its doors after bank holidays, the museums might be busier than usual.

 Only 14 participants or less in our tour; we will provide personal headsets and a double picture with a short description of the Michelangelo’s’ artwork in the Sistine Chapel that will be very useful while you are going to be inside the Chapel admiring the frescoes done by Michelangelo. Just before you enter our great  guide will give you a wonderful explanation on Michelangelo’s art works and great talent. Be ready for an early bird Vatican tour tour before the crowd.

Meeting place across the Vatican Museums entrance, Viale Vaticano 100 outside Caffè Vaticano. By Metro, (Line A), get off at Ottaviano. Ottaviano metro stop is only 10 minutes walk to the Vatican Museum only entrance and you will meet us right across the street with a sign.
