Laocoon

The Laocoon marble group was discovered in Rome in the 1506 when Michelangelo was already working for the Pope Julius II, it was identified as the original marble group sculpted by the artists from Rhodes who are represented the moment when the Laocoon along with the two sons is strangle by two sea-serpent sent by Athena to punish him for trying to advise the Trojans to not to receive the wood horse. The statue was purchased by the Pope Julius II.
