Join a Colosseum with Arena floor small group tour of average 18 participants (maximum 30 people) , our passionate storytelling English-speaking guide will teach you stories and anecdotes about the Gladiators and Roman Emperors.

Start right in front of the Church of Santa Cosma and Damiano, located along via dei Fori Imperiali, where you will receive headsets to hear your guide perfectly.

Head to the special Gladiator ‘s Gate that only visitors with a special reservation can access and enjoy entering the amphitheater directly onto the Arena. This was the stage of the Gladiators where they used to fight to become stars and earn their freedom! The morning shows were called “Venationes” and the “Bestiarii” Gladiators were fighting against wild animals.

From this stage, visit the ring that overlooks the undergrounds of the Colosseum. Take in the amazing view as our guides will share their knowledge about the history of Ancient Rome and of the Colosseum in particular. Our guides are all licensed and have a degree either in Art History or Archaeology. Their explanations are rich of amazing anecdotes about the Colosseum and its spectators. Continue this 2.5 hours tour of Ancient Rome to the Palatine Hill, one of Rome’s seven hills. Here, Emperors and wealthy families used to have their houses built to enjoy the stunning view over the Roman Forum and Circus Maximum: the panorama is still breathtaking!

Walk down the Palatine Hill and stroll among the ruins of the Roman Forum with your group. This is an archeological area that the guide will bring to life by sharing more history and anecdotes about Ancient Rome. Overlay books and 3D pictures will be used to show you what each column, temple and building used to look like at that time allowing you to understand what those ruins used to represent by linking them to the main characters and events of Ancient Rome’s history.
